This case study details the design of a ride-hailing mobile application, focusing on enhancing the driver experience and optimizing shared ride functionality. As the product designer, I worked to improve the user experience by creating an intuitive and efficient interface for both passengers and drivers, primarily targeting daily commuters seeking cost-effective and faster travel options.
The primary challenge was to design an intuitive interface for drivers to manage their tasks efficiently within the shared ride system. ****** Existing ride-hailing apps often lack a streamlined experience for shared rides, leading to confusion and inefficiencies for drivers. Passenger feedback indicated a need for faster ride matching and reduced wait times. The research highlighted a clear gap in the market for a user-friendly app that effectively handles shared rides, addressing both driver and passenger needs.
The main objective was to create an intuitive and efficient interface for passengers and drivers, specifically for shared rides. The aim is to reduce passenger wait times, improve driver efficiency, and increase user satisfaction. Success would be measured by user acceptance testing scores, wait time reduction, ride completion rate improvement, and a rise in-app engagement.

The research analysed existing ride-hailing apps like Uber, Bolt, and InDrive. I conducted user interviews and surveys with daily commuters to understand their needs and pain points. Competitive analysis informed the design decisions. Here are the key insights from the research:
